Veney's Vega
One of the most famous cars in the Pro Comp "BB/FC" days in "Veney's Vega". This car was flat out bad! He routinely beat up on the supposed quicker dragsters and won the world title in 1980 the last year both dragsters and funny cars raced side by side throughout eliminations. He set or broke 11 national and track record in a five years span from 1974 - 1979 and won 13 National events.

I remember seeing Veney's Vega at the 1975 Gator Nationals for the first time of many, I was 14 then. I could not explain how fantastic it was to see this car out run the dragsters of the "Pro Comp" class time after time.

Actually there were 4 Veney's Vegas,see Mr Vic Millers website for full history....Due to good fortune and the generosity of a good friend we own #4,the division 3 car that was later the nitro funny, the pop shoppe aa/fc of Frank Hawley...It will undergo a full resto with my wifes a/fuel drive train.....Pat
